Becoming A Minimalist...

Can you believe this mess? What in the world happened? I don't really have to ask, I know all too well exactly what happened. I happened. Between getting the shoppe cleaned, painted and decorated, housework and yard work around the cottage, cooking, making items to sell and hand making Christmas gifts (gosh this sentence is long and no, I'm not finished with it yet) I just simply didn't put anything back into it's proper place. I'm bad that way...
As I posted last Spring, I hauled car load after car load to the local Hospice thrift store and yet I can't seem to miss a thing. Still I'm finding things to paint, repurpose and sell. I'm also finding things that I simply no longer care for and have decided to sell those items as well. I might as well sell them rather than leave them for someone else to sell after I'm gone. Not that I'm planning on going anywhere real soon, just sayin' "I bought the jadeite pieces, I might as well enjoy the profits", right?
Looking at the mess in the photo above has caused me to realize that I can make do with much less home decor. I like pretty things but I am so fickle when it comes to color that I need not ever purchase anything else that isn't white. At the end of the day I'll only repaint it white or as I'm doing now, sell it...
So after taking all of the Christmas decor down I immediately began to put other decor away as well and I'm thinking that eventually most of that will make it's way out to the shoppe too. It's just time to declutter, no two ways about it. By the way, I have started cleaning up the craft pigstye room. It's coming together very nicely. Until I begin work on Valentine's Day goodies...
