Plums And Pups...

JD's plums have arrived and arrived and arrived! I went over to his back forty on Sunday afternoon and picked a bag full. Then I brought them back to my cottage and made an amazing cobbler with the harvest. I'll be posting the recipe later on Cottage Cuisine, with a link from this blog, just in case you're interested. I've been playing around with my cobbler recipe and I think I have it down to perfection. For now...

Me, picking plums. I should have dressed up a little, but then again, I'm rather fond of running around the country side, looking as my friend LM says, "like who shot Sally", whatever that means. I'm pretty sure it means I look rough...

Of course, I had to snap a photo of Gus. Widdle, bitty Guster. He likes plums too...

JD's tomatoes will be ready in a matter of days. Looking forward to those in a big, fat salad!

Being able to pick my own fruit, make a cobbler and serve it for dessert, all in one afternoon is  amazing to me. Country life still takes me by surprise on a daily basis. I don't think I could ever go back to city life. I surely hope I never have to...

  1. I forgot to get plums when I was there last week. I need to come by for some. Maybe I'll get by tomorrow. I also want to see your decorating progress :)
